Ally will be one in 22 days. Blink and year one is almost wrapped up. Mind blowing. I LOVE being her Mama. It has opened a whole new vision of the world. I am very much enjoying her milestones and trying to soak up each one. Excited to see what 2021 has in store for her. This picture is from her first honker hunt. Snapchat stories were a little different this trip. Didn’t think it was possible to love Chris more than I did but seeing him with her is the greatest treasure of all. There is something to be said about a bond between Father and Daughter...especially out here. Ally went on every scouting mission and every hunt. We have pulled this girl 5,280 miles in a little over a week. People laugh when they see the Florida plate and usually tell us we must be lost. Often underestimated, this space station holds the essentials to set up anything from a buffet snow goose feed to paratrooping cranes or even mallards dumping in the timber. A tool and command base to plan surprise parties for the ages. Not sure where she might stop next... @divebombindustries

When I was pregnant, I had more people than I can count tell me that life will change. That kids will change it and slow you down. Well I am a believer kids do not change your life, they become apart it. This Saturday, on the day Ally turned 9 months, she got to go on her first hunt. Her eyes got a little bigger when the snows got loud and hovered over us. Is it harder free lancing with a baby? Well hell yeah but it makes the reward that much more. She is the best part of Chris and I. She is our legacy. When she’s older and some one ask her when is the first time she went hunting, she won’t remember. Spent the day on the East coast of the Panhandle at Mr. Dwight Knight’s farm. Learned so much about raising deer and big game animals. Ally was also impressed. The girl who doesn’t miss a meal basically threw her bottle at the mere chance of holding a mammoth antler cut from an almost 3 year old. Loss of words to see what good genes can produce. Special thanks to Dwight for an incredible tour of his wildlife plantation (and letting me ask 92474782 questions). #TheCaptainsLife #KnightRanch
